Rent Hike for Davis Sq. Farmers' Market

Many don't realize that some Farmers' Markets pay rent for the use of city space. This is the case in Davis Square, where the farmers' market has recently received a last-minute rental increase from $1,500 to $2,500.

The Davis Square Farmers' Market is managed by The Federation of Mass Farmers Markets, a charitable non-profit organization that supports the maintenance and growth of farmers' markets throughout the state in numerous ways, including training market managers, offering community outreach education, and working to affect state legislation.

They are asking for donations to help offset the extra cost.
