Recipe

Tempeh with Almond Meal, String Beans, and Shoyu

Here is a recipe that comes from local macrobiotic chef David Snieckus:

  • Toasted sesame oil
  • One sliced onion
  • One 8 oz. package tempeh
  • A couple handfuls of string beans
  • About 1 1/2 cups of almond meal
  • 2 tablespoons Shoyu

In a hot pan add a bit of toasted sesame oil. Then add the onion and tempeh. Allow the tempeh to brown a bit. Then add the string beans and a few splashes of water (to steam the string beans). Let the string beans cook for about 5 minutes. Then add the almond meal and Shoyu. Cook slowly and stir until done.

In addition to offering health and nutrition counseling, David Snieckus hosts macrobiotic dinners every Friday.
